Fascinated by the distinctive and alluring style evolved by Dr Padma Subramaniam, (arguably the most accomplished classical danseuse in India today), Nanditha signed up as a regular student at "Nrityodaya" , a dance school run by her in Chennai. She quickly graduated to the advanced "Natyashali" course which primarily dealt with mastering the 108 Karanas (the frozen dance movements depicted as sculptures in South Indian temples like Chidambaram and Kumbakonam). The Natyashastra based curriculum opened up fresh vistas as she perceived the tremendous opportunities to enrich Mohiniyattom, that it afforded.
