Formative Years
Having been initiated into the realm of performing arts at a very tender age, Nanditha was fortunate to have been raised in a creative environment. Kalamandalam Sugandhi, her mother, a legend in her own right has a reputation of being amongst the finer mentors in the field. The experience and exposure she gained while accompanying her mother in recitals across the country gave Nanditha a substantial grounding. The numerous opportunities of active participation in various workshops and Lecture-Demonstrations in her formative years hastened her development into an inspired dancer.
Her pursuit of academic excellence continued on a parallel front as she completed her Masters in English Literature from the Mahatma Gandhi University (Kerala, India) in 1999. Knowledge of classical music being a crucial asset for an Indian Classical dancer, Nanditha also acquired the "Ganabhooshanam" degree from the prestigious RLV Music Academy. The pivotal role that she played in the organization and conduct of "Nrityankuram" a series of nationwide workshops (under the guidance and patronage of Kalamandalam Sugandhi) attracted much critical acclaim.
